Police Foundation, Shield616 commit to providing all CSPD officers with tactical vest equipment
Police Foundation of Colorado Springs and Shield616 are working together to ensure all Colorado Springs Police Department officers are equipped with potentially life-saving tactical vest packages. PFCS launched a two-year campaign March 1, 2017 to raise more than $400,000 for the equipment. Learn more about the effort from local media coverage.

The problems facing the Colorado Springs Police Department are no secret — funding has been stagnant, attrition has thinned the ranks and often no officers are available to answer non-emergency calls.
Instead of complaining about what the department can’t do, Barry Grossman and a handful of other residents recently banded together to offer the Police Department a little boost by creating The Police Foundation of Colorado Springs.

The men and women on patrol in Colorado Springs now have support separate from the limitations of the city budget. The formation of the Police Foundation of Colorado Springs was just announced. It is a funding source and board made up of people independent of the department.
